Competition !
Reversed.
Mahr is the mandatory gift/payment a groom gives his bride in an Islamic marriage — a token of love. But in many Muslim societies, it has sadly become a symbol of social status and show-off, where families demand excessively high Mahr.
It has even become a tool of competition — the higher the Mahr, the higher the status.
This makes marriage financially difficult and goes against the true spirit of Islam.
At Quranic Finance, we aim to reverse that competition — a competition for good.
Through our Easy Marriage Initiative, bride’s families are encouraged to accepting simple and reasonable Mahr.
Every year, QuranicFinance.com publishes a leaderboard featuring fathers of the bride who accepted the lowest Mahr. The family at the top wins a FREE Umrah package.
Let’s compete to accept the lowest Mahr and win a blessed journey to Umrah.
